The people who fall in love with me the fastest usually do one thing differently: <br><br><strong>They slow down and explore my neighborhoods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not just the famous spots, but the places where everyday life happens \u2014 where locals drink coffee, argue about football, and eat dishes that haven\u2019t changed in decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So instead of giving you a checklist of things you <em>have<\/em> to do, let me show you a few of the places where I think I shine the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"things-to-do-in-porto\">THINGS TO DO IN PORTO<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for places to visit and things to see, this guide to my favorite things to do around Porto should help. I\u2019ll share a few local tips and introduce you to some of the neighborhoods that make me who I am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"things-to-do-in-porto-ribeira-neighborhood\"><strong>Things to do in Porto: Ribeira neighborhood<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Dock-and-dine-in-Porto.jpg\" alt=\"Things to do in Ribeira Porto\" style=\"width:840px;height:840px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Ribeira is one of my most famous neighborhoods. Right in the heart of the old town, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. Travelers usually recognize it by its colorful houses and narrow streets that still feel a bit like the Middle Ages. I must warn you, though: it\u2019s lively, busy, and full of energy. I adore it! And if you\u2019re not looking for peace and quiet, you probably will too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Metro station: <\/strong>S\u00e3o Bento Railway Station is the closest stop;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Where is the love:<\/strong> Prepare yourself for the beauty of S\u00e3o Bento Railway Station. But&#8230; if you want to experience my nightlife, this is where it happens. Here you\u2019ll find Rua de Santa Catarina, the historic Bolh\u00e3o Market, and my central avenue, Avenida dos Aliados. Old traditions and new ideas mix here every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Metro station: <\/strong>Aliados;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Where is the love:<\/strong> Bolh\u00e3o Market. Fewer tourists, more locals, and a slower rhythm. Two places I\u2019m particularly fond of here are Jardim de S\u00e3o L\u00e1zaro (my first public garden) and Cemetery of Prado do Repouso (my first public cemetery). Today it\u2019s where people come when they need a little sea air and a slower pace. Families love it here&#8230; and honestly, so do I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tram: <\/strong>Take the historic Porto Tram Line 1 from Infante all the way to Foz. But here\u2019s something I\u2019ve learned after meeting travelers for more than 900 years:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The people who enjoy me the most aren\u2019t the ones trying to see everything. They\u2019re the ones who walk slowly, eat slowly, and allow themselves to get a little lost along the way. So take your time.
