A tiny family-run tavern tucked away on a quiet street. A bakery that&#8217;s been making the same recipe for generations. A glass of Port shared with people who were complete strangers just a few hours earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But are food tours really worth it? <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/reviews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">We could tell you why we believe they are, but we&#8217;d rather let our guests do the talking<\/a>. Here are a few moments, memories and comments shared after spending a day exploring Porto with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Our Porto Guests Had to Say<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;Arrived in Porto thinking I wouldn\u2019t like sardines. Joined the Vintage &amp; Port Wine Food Tour, tried sardines. Left Porto <b>loving sardines<\/b>.&#8221;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;There was food. There was wine. But most of all, there were people. By the end, <b>I had forgotten that I was on a tour<\/b>. It was just a couple of friends parting after a wonderful four hours together.&#8221;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Great host, very knoldgeable and a lovley person! I had so much funa nd rlaly recomend it!&#8221; (<i><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/tour\/craft-beer-food-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one of the Taste Porto Food Tours reviews written at the end of our Craft Beer &amp; Food Tour&#8230;<\/a> if you know what we mean!<\/i>)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;I was worried that it would be strange taking the 10 am tour (drinking that early), but the stops were spread out and <b>I was glad I was stuffed at 2:30<\/b> instead of just before bed.&#8221;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;There\u2019s so much food in Porto! There was some very good food, wine\/port sampled and the portions were generous. <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/anthony-bourdain-in-porto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The highlight for me was discussing <b>Anthony Bourdain<\/b> with the company\u2019s founder (who appeared on Anthony Bourdain\u2019s Porto episode)<\/a>.&#8221;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;After the tour was over, we were given a list of other places to eat and drink in the city. We headed over to a cheese and wine bar recommended by our Taste Porto tour guide and, as soon as we mentioned his name, the <b>red carpet was rolled out for us<\/b> and we continued our journey of amazing food.&#8221;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Part of the ticket costs goes to the homeless people of Porto for food and shelter. We love working with <b>companies that \u2018give back\u2019<\/b>.&#8221;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;We learned a lot and by the end of the tour <b>8 strangers from around the world had become friends!<\/b>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tread Off the Beaten Path.
