Wine and Food tasting in Porto, Portugal
The Vintage Food Tour in Porto focuses on food & places that went out of fashion for reasons we cannot tell you about because it’s part of the tour, and that has now come back into our lives for other reasons we cannot tell you about because it’s also part of the tour.
It is a tour of memory, about habits of old, and, personally, it’s very close to our hearts. The first and second stops? They’re iconic and we’ve been going there since we are kids.
The people behind the counters still greet customers the same way.
The products still carry that unmistakable “old Porto” feeling.
And every time we walk in, it still hits us.
That’s what this tour is built on!
The final tasting location is something we’re particularly proud of. Instead of a crowded cellar visit, we host a mini Port wine masterclass in a beautiful private room (intimate, thoughtful, and focused on small-scale producers that most visitors never discover).
If someone tells us, “I really want to understand Port wine, not just taste it”, this is the experience we recommend. It’s our way of showing a deeper side of Porto and of Portugal’s wine culture beyond the big names.

This was a great introduction to the food in Porto. Not only did we sample a variety of cheese, wine and other tasty treats, I felt like I could ask Mr. Waves anything. From history to current living conditions this is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on.
